It's Digital Citizenship Week!
From the Principal's Desk:
I know that you have many questions regarding the information discussed at the School Board meeting last week concerning returning to school. The School Board approved a return date for kindergarten the week of November 16 and a return date for Grades 1 and 2 the week of November 30. There is a tentative return date for students in grades 3-6 for the week of January 4th.
I plan to host a parent session one evening next week, as soon as I have learned more information about the implementation of this proposed plan from county leadership. I will send separate communication early next week about this parent session including an RSVP form so that we can provide the link to the meeting with registered parents. This meeting will specifically address the current information we will have for our returning students and I will answer parent questions based on the information I have available.
Digital Citizenship Week:
This week was Digital Citizenship Week! The theme this year is "We Are All Digital Citizens". Students engaged in dialogue in their classrooms, and Mr. Jacobs shared information throughout the week on our morning news show, WLATV. Additionally you can continue these valuable conversations at home and use this DigCit Choice Board to engage your child in activities and reflection around being a good digital citizen.
From our Counselors:
Welcome from the School Counseling Department: Please feel free to email us directly if you need any assistance during this time. Our emails are linked in our names below. Christine Meehan, (grades K-3), school counselor. Lauren Lipton (grades 3-6), school counselor.
We are pleased to announce that our Social Emotional Learning (SEL) program is strongly underway! Our services to students include individual meetings, skills groups (primarily stress reduction), lunch meetings (to connect students) and full classroom lessons for Social Emotional Learning during which we focused on introductions and connectivity. In the coming months we will present topics such as emotional regulation, learning to be resilient, celebrating diversity and showing gratitude. To access many resources quickly and easily, check out our bitmoji offices for students and parents.

Madison Pyramid Canned Food Drive
In cooperation with the Madison High School SGA, the Madison Pyramid schools will be conducting a canned food drive beginning on Monday, November 9th. Thank you to our Junior Optimists Club for their work in organizing the effort at Louise Archer! A box will be placed outside Door 1 for community members to drop off cans M-F, 9am-4pm. In addition, we will have boxes out each Monday during the Library Pickup times from 2-4pm. The canned food drive will end on December 14th. These donations will directly support our community, and we are hoping to help as many families as we can!
