Hello Haycock Families,
We are excited and busy preparing for a small group of our students to return to the building this coming week. Safety measures and protocols are in place to ensure the safety of our students and staff members.
Friday, Oct. 30 is an early release day for our students so that teachers can work on report cards, conferences, and planning. Students will be released from virtual instruction at 1:30. There will not be synchronous instruction after 1:30 on Friday.
Our Kindergarten students will be the next cohort returning to our building on Tuesday, November 17. Our first and second graders are tentatively scheduled to return to the building on Tuesday, December 1, and our students in grades 3-6 are tentatively scheduled to return on Tuesday, January 5.
You will be receiving a letter on Monday morning explaining this timeline. If your circumstances have changed, this letter includes a form that you can complete to update your choice (virtual or face to face instruction) if it has changed since July. Please complete this form only if you are changing your choice from July. This change form must be completed by Friday, October 30.
We will hold two Town Halls this week to share information and answer your questions regarding the plan for virtual, concurrent, and face to face instruction. We will have a Town Hall on Wednesday, October 28 at 12:00 noon and another Town Hall on Thursday, October 29 at 6:30 p.m.
As our students come back into the building, the school playground will be closed during school hours (9:20-4:05) Tuesday through Friday beginning on Tuesday, November 17. This is so our students who are in the building can go outside for recess and play in the fresh air. The playground may be used by the community on Mondays during school hours when students will not be in the building. We appreciate your support and cooperation with this.
Finally, teachers are working hard to complete report cards and will be offering parent conferences over the next few weeks. Report cards will be mailed home in November, but you can access your child’s report card through your SIS ParentVUE account prior to it being mailed home. If you do not have a ParentVUE account, reach out to Ms. LaValle for an activation code.
