Parents, I have two big favors to ask of you. Please complete the two consent forms below:
1) Every parent must be made aware of Student Rights and Responsibilities and related resources at www.fcps.edu/srr. After reviewing the information, please complete the SR&R Parent Acknowledgement Form using this link we have provided https://forms.gle/4VCeDgMCzRKWy79X6 . This form must be filled out for each child enrolled at Beech Tree. Thank you for your help with this expectation.
2)Additionally, if you have not yet completed our consent form for your child to use the FCPS-approved online tools listed on the school website as part of the instructional program at https://www.fcps.edu/node/41989, please do so now. This allows teachers to continue seeking additional methods of virtual engagement.
We are excited to announce that we will begin distributing FREE Fairfax Meal Kits containing seven days of breakfast and lunches at our Kiss & Ride on Wednesday, October 21st.
The kits will be available for pick up from 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. or until they run out. Meal kits will be available to ALL FCPS students and children 18 years of age and under at no cost. Each meal kit will contain breakfast and lunch for one person for a week. Parents and caregivers may pick up one meal kit for each child. Adults may purchase meal kits for $28. Instructions on how to store the food and prepare it will be provided. Initially, meal kits will be distributed every Wednesday. The goal of FCPS is to provide every FCPS student daily access to a healthy breakfast and lunch.
Friday, October 30 is the end of the first marking period. It is also listed on the FCPS calendar as a two hour Early Release Day. If we were in the building, our dismissal would be at 1:25. With our current schedule, students do not return after lunch, which is 12:30-1:15. Monday, November 2 and Tuesday, November 3 are student holidays There will be no synchronous or asynchronous instruction for students on these days. The school planning day and teacher work day are being used for teacher teams to prepare for our Return to School, plan collaboratively for quarter two, and complete progress reports.
Please note that our PTA #BeechTreeFamily Meeting has been post-poned until Tuesday, October 27th at 6:30pm. I will send you an email and subject line to email questions to in my Principal Message next week. I will also send you our PTA’s zoom link the morning of the 27th.
