Terra Centre Updates 10-16-20

Terra Centre Families,

Believe it or not, we have students returning to the school building next week! Our preschoolers will be returning to in-person learning Tuesday – Friday. For our students’ safety, please remember that school grounds are closed to the community during the school day from 8:30 – 4:00.

As a reminder, we have a scheduled Library and Materials Distribution on Monday (10/19) from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Please see below for additional details. Don’t forget that Terra Centre has Grab & Go meals every day from 8:00 – 12:30 in our Kiss & Ride lane!

Another quick reminder… If you haven’t done so already, please click here to complete the REQUIRED Digital Application Permission Form. This must be completed for students to maintain access to some of our instructional tools. Click here to see how to fill out the Application Permission Form.

We have received a few questions about child supervision. If you would like more information, please click here for Fairfax County’s Child Supervision Guidelines.

A message from our Librarian, Ms. Petruzzellis:

Hi TC Families! We’re excited because we will soon be starting our optional library curbside pickup program on Monday afternoons from 1:00-4:00pm in the Kiss and Ride lane.  The first pickup will be October 19. Parents & guardians can find information in the following slide presentation, which includes links to documents, videos, and an explanation of the process.   1st-6th grade students received information about this program in their classes over the past couple weeks. Kindergarten will have a slightly different procedure, which parents can learn about in the last slide of the presentation.  Hold requests on Destiny Discover (for 1st-6th graders) and Google Forms requests for “Mystery Bags” (for Kindergarten) should be submitted by Thursdays of each week. Feel free to email Terra Centre’s librarian, Ms. Petruzzellis, at aepetruzzell@fcps.edu  if you need clarification or have additional questions that were not covered in the presentation.

Paperless Report Cards

Paperless Report Cards in SIS ParentVUE!

With the approaching end of the 1st quarter, you have the option to “Go Paperless” which will allow parents to receive online progress reports/report cards.

To take advantage of the paperless options, parents and/or guardians will need to log into ParentVUE, then go to “My Account” and select "Go Paperless."

  • All parents and/or guardians who live with the student and share the same address must have a SIS ParentVUE account and must select the paperless option to prevent mailing of the printed progress reports.
  • The “Go Paperless” option will apply to all their associated students, no matter what school level.
  • If the associated parent and/or guardian has already selected “Go Paperless” for their secondary student, the option will now apply to any ES siblings as well.

Parents/guardians are encouraged to access PVUE periodically to check in on their student(s)’ attendance and to view progress reports at the end of each quarter.

If you have not yet created a ParentVue account, please contact our SIA, Dee Cunningham, at dmcunningham@fcps.edu. She can provide you with an activation code. Details on what can be found in ParentVUE and how to activate a new ParentVUE account using the activation code can be found here - Student Information System - SIS Parent Account Overview
