MHS Parent Meetings

Don’t Miss the Freshman Parent Hour Right After our Virtual PTSA Meeting on October 21st at 7:00 pm

Join Principal Dr. Ellen Reilly and the PTSA for our General Meeting. Following the meeting, the PTSA will host the Freshman Parent Hour with Assistant Principal and Class Freshman Administrator, Monica Charles-Williams, as well as the school clinical team. You will also have an opportunity to meet the school counselors.

Parents and students are welcome to listen and ask questions.

Upcoming Mock SAT Test

EC Tutoring is offering a mock SAT test on October 17th. This test is available to students at area schools for $20.

Please remember to identify yourself as an MHS student on the sign-up form so that the PTSA gets credit; the fees support our programs.

McLean Safe Community Coalition Event

Setting the Tone: Habits for a Smooth, Virtual Learning Experience, featuring Ana Homayoun. Thursday, October 15th at 12:00 p.m.

Author and educational consultant Ana Homayoun will examine how setting students up socially, emotionally and academically during the pandemic is key to long-term well-being and engagement. She will also discuss how taking the time to set the tone for a smoother school year means looking at daily and weekly habits that work for your students and your family.

In 2001, Ana founded Green Ivy Educational Consulting, LLC, an internationally recognized organization that works with parents, students, educators, and employers. 

This event is FREE, but registration is required.

Fairfax County Public Library LEAP Program

As of October 1st, Library Equity Access Pass (LEAP) accounts were created for all students in Fairfax County Public Schools. These public library virtual accounts will allow students to check out up to three items at a time for six weeks each (no renewals).

A student can have a LEAP account as well as a standard library account (application online and in library branches). Standard accounts allow users to place holds on materials and access FCPL’s digital resources such as eBooks and databases.
