Dear Bailey’s Elementary School for the Arts and Sciences Families,
Five years ago I accepted the position to lead our school and it has been the highest privilege of my career. It is with very mixed emotions that I share that effective October 30, 2020, I will step down from the principal position at Bailey’s Elementary. We have made a family decision (not an easy one for sure) to move to Florida to be closer to my parents who are in need of additional support.
Working with the families, students, and staff at Bailey’s has been an incredible experience. The educators who work with your children are the most dedicated and highly regarded professionals in education. The school staff and your children amaze me each day. This community will always be a special place for me. There is so much love, appreciation, and joy that your children bring to school each day and that you have shared with me.
Each day I have had the privilege to see the students grow as they learned to read, understand math concepts, develop their oral language and establish friendships. I am especially proud of the Professional Learning Community we have established that celebrates our diversity, works collaboratively to address the needs of our students, ensures all children have access to high levels of instruction, integrates the arts and sciences, and focuses on bi-lingual education.
The Department of Human Resources, in conjunction our Region 2 Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Fabio Zuluaga, will communicate with you in the next few days regarding the next steps for Bailey’s and the selection process for your next principal.
Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the Bailey’s community and to work alongside you.
Sincerely,
Julie Easa
