HES Grab and Go Meals Important Update

Herndon Elementary School is a Grab and Go meal site.  Meals are FREE for ALL FCPS students.  Our hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 1:00 pm.  On Fridays, they may pick up 2 extra bags for the weekend.

*Beginning October 20th, a snack and supper will be available at HES, too.

* As many schools will be used as polling places on November 3rd, Food and Nutrition Services will NOT be providing meal service on Election Day. We will provide two days-worth of meals on November 2nd. This is very similar to how weekend meals are distributed on Fridays.

For more information, locations, and bus stops on the FCPS website, click here and scroll down.  There is a translation bar available.

Free Food Program this Saturday, October 17

Heritage Helps is a food program that will occur on this Saturday, and every Saturday in October (10/17, 10/24, and 10/31).  Heritage Fellowship Church of Reston, VA has been granted a large donation of thousands of pounds of food box kits, in partnership with the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Fairfax County.  Each box contains meat, dairy, as well as non-perishable items.

Please come to Heritage Fellowship Church (2501 Fox Mill Road, Reston, VA) between 9:30 am and 10:30 am on this Saturday and receive a 32-pound box of food - free of charge, no questions asked.  Please note that we are operating on a "first come - first served" basis.  They are providing one box per family.

"Go Paperless" Progress Reports Option for FCPS Elementary Schools

The 1st Quarter ends October 30th and progress reports will go out shortly after!  The “Go Paperless” option is now available to all elementary school parents to allow them to only receive online progress reports starting the first quarter of SY 20/21. This will not impact any other mailings from FCPS other than the progress reports for ES students and report cards for secondary students. To take advantage of the paperless options, parents and/or guardians will need to log into ParentVUE, then go to “My Account” and select "Go Paperless" All parents and/or guardians who live with the student and share the same address must have a SIS ParentVUE account and must select the paperless option to prevent mailing of the printed progress reports. The “Go Paperless” option will apply to all their associated students, no matter what school level. If the associated parent and/or guardian has already selected “Go Paperless” for their secondary student, the option will now apply to any ES siblings as well.
