The Positivity Project: Open-Mindedness

This week the Positivity Project theme is open-mindedness. Did you know that trying new things makes experiences more memorable, helps to overcome fears, and stimulates brainpower and creativity? On Monday, for spirit week with Try Something New Day, in conjunction with the Positivity Project, students and staff shared that they tried new foods and technology. How will you and your family branch out to try something new this week? Share your experiences with us using this google form for a chance to be on our school Twitter, or Good Morning, Fairview

Tips to Survive and Thrive Online

A Parent Session Hosted by the Fairview Clinical Team

Tuesday, October 13, 2020

Greetings Fairview Parents and Families!

We would like to invite you to “Tips to Survive and Thrive Online”. We will be hosting an evening event to provide ideas to assist parents/guardians in supporting the emotional and social needs of students in the virtual environment. This opportunity will be held virtually on Tuesday, October 13th, at 6:00 p.m. The school counselors, psychologist, and social worker will be on hand to present information to be followed by a brief Q&A session. We will be recording the session for anyone who can’t make it as well as providing links to resources. Link to the online session will be provided via email next week.

Hispanic Heritage Month

Tuesday, September 15 - Thursday, October 15

This month the Fairview community is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. Our Spanish teachers, Senora Arraya and Senora Burrus, will be highlighting this celebration in their weekly lessons with students throughout October. Good Morning, Fairview will also feature highlights of important Hispanic leaders and persons of interest.

Fairview families are invited to share how they are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month by emailing their story and/or picture to Mrs. Pablo Hayes (jlpablohayes@fcps.edu) or Mr. Justin Nielsen (jpnielsen@fcps.edu). Submissions may be shared on the morning news show, in the Falcon Fanfare, or the official Fairview Twitter site.

Hello Fairview Families,

As the PTA board works to get this year started, we are still in search of committee chairs for the following committees:

Art Aide

Fundraising - Boxtops

Fundraising - sponsorships

Lost & Found (for when we are back in the building)

Supply Kits

Yearbook

If you are interested in any of these positions, please check out this link for descriptions: https://www.fairviewpta.org/commitee-s/committee-chair-responsibilitiesdescriptions.

If you have additional questions about a committee and/or want to step up to be a committee chair, please email Maria Mahoney at president@fairviewpta.org. There are some committees that will not be active during this virtual time, but that could change if our students start to go to school in person. Some committees may look a little different during the virtual time, but will still be needed.

If you are not quite ready to be a committee chair but want to join a committee as a member, please reach out as well! Every committee chair appreciates having support from committee members!

Thank you all for supporting Fairview!
