Mustang Message - 10/4/2020

Monday Schedules

Mondays are a part of the school week.  For the next few weeks, every child is assigned a small group time with their general education teacher to build relationships with peers and get support with technology.  Independent work is also assigned  and should be completed that day.  If your child is unable to participate during the school day, we ask that parents/guardians report the absence or the commitment to completing the work asynchronously to the school office at 703-914-7272.  You are welcome to visit the FCPS website at https://www.fcps.edu/return-school/schedules-and-attendance to learn more.

Starting in early October, not every child may be assigned a small group intervention or enrichment small group, however independent work will continue to be assigned along with a check-in for attendance.  Details will come through your child's classroom teacher.

Specialist Spotlights

Hello Mustangs! We hope you’ve had a great start to the 2020-2021 school year. It has been wonderful to see all of our students in class and to have a chance to reconnect with everyone. We’d like to welcome Ms. Gore (general music) and Mrs. Hinkle (band) to Bren Mar Park’s music team! And of course, a warm welcome back to Mrs. Millett  and Mr. Johnson.

In general music classes this year during specials, we will try to incorporate singing, dancing, playing instruments, music history and music literacy. We would also love to teach some musical activities that can be done during family choice time! The strings and band programs are also being offered this year, so make sure that you are registered if that is something you’d like to participate in! Band and strings will meet every other week during specials, and there will be opportunities for extra practice on Mondays as well.
