Parents/Guardians please review the Student Rights and Responsibilities (SR&R) Guide for Families and related resources at www.fcps.edu/srr. After reviewing the information, please complete the SR&R Parent Acknowledgement Form by Friday, October 30, 2020. The form must be filled out one time per student.
Learning Seminar Overview
Week of September 28
Next week in Learning Seminar we’ll be talking all about positive relationships. We’ll discuss the benefits of healthy relationships in our lives and how to go about making and maintaining these relationships here at Twain and beyond. On Friday, we’ll discuss bridges. No, seriously, we’re really going to be talking about bridges. We use them as a metaphor to describe how adults can act as supports as we navigate the unknown and hold us up and support us when we encounter obstacles.
Conversation starter at home: Ask your child who helps to hold them up (beams) and who helps keep us on the correct path (guardrails). Monday’s reflection activity will be a little different this week. All students will be completing a Reading Inventory (RI). The RI will be used to measure your student’s reading strengths and needs. This inventory has been posted in your child’s English class. Helpful tip for logging in: the username is the student’s ID # and the password is the student’s ID and the first initial of the first and last name.
PTA General Membership Meeting
Please join the Twain PTA at our General Membership Meeting on Tuesday, September 29 at 7:00pm via Zoom. The Zoom link will be emailed to all Twain families on Monday, September 28. Please do not share this link with anyone. We will be going over upcoming events and asking the PTA members to vote on and approve our Budget and our annual Treasurer's audit for this year. A short presentation will be made by Mrs. Montgomery (Twain’s 8th Grade Assistant Principal) on our school's No Place For Hate group and its fantastic progress. We look forward to "seeing" you!
