Schoology Accounts & Grading

Accounts

Go to the Schoology student page  or the Schoology parent page for more information including how to login, how to reset your password, and how to request technology help.

Grading

In Schoology, you may see references to grades and gradebooks.  Please note: FCPS is not using Schoology this year as a tool to communicate grades with families.  The best way to get information regarding student progress and achievement at the elementary level is available from the classroom teacher.  FCPS is still using SIS Parent Account to communicate report card information and other reports.  Please be aware that FCPS Elementary Schools do not use the SIS grade books; this is for middle and high schools.

Please contact your child’s teacher for information about your student’s progress.  More information about Elementary School Grading and Reporting can be found here: https://www.fcps.edu/academics/grading-and-reporting/elementary-school

Parent Permissions/Acknowledgement Needed

Consent Needed for Digital Tools

During instructional time, we will use a variety of digital resources to support student learning and promote communication and collaboration with students and families. In order to use all of these amazing tools, we need your permission.  Here is the link to a form where the enrolling parent or guardian will need to indicate whether or not their student is allowed to use the list of digital resources this year.  Some of the digital resources your child may use this year will require your consent before they can be used. You can find our school’s list of the resources that require parental consent at https://londontownees.fcps.edu/adopteddigitalresources

Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have questions or concerns about the digital resources we’ve chosen to use this year.  Thank you!

Students Rights and Responsibilities (SR&R) Available

Parents and guardians, please review the Student Rights and Responsibilities and related resources at www.fcps.edu/srr.  After reviewing the information, fill out the SR&R Parent Acknowledgement Form using this link we have provided.  The form must be filled out one time per student.  https://forms.gle/vMbUiF8fgo169cUV8

iReady

This week students in grades 1-6 took the iReady screening assessment for reading.  This helps provide teachers with important data to tailor instruction to your student.  On Monday, September 28th, students in grades 1-6 will take the iReady screening assessment for math.

Parent Support

Please watch this video and review this checklist to prepare you and your student for this assessment.  It's important that parents and guardians motivate students without providing help so that we know how to best support your child.  As the video says, the best help to give is not to help!

Additional Information

Additional information, including a short video, about the universal screener in FCPS can be found at this webpage: https://www.fcps.edu/node/33718. If you have further questions about this assessment, please contact your child’s teacher or the school’s test coordinator.
