9/18 Shrevewood Wise Words

Message From Administration

Dear Shrevewood Families,

Thanks to your partnership with us, we had a wonderful second week of school.  Seeing your children's faces brought us so much joy!  As we begin our learning journey this school year, we know your children will be building stamina as the days and weeks progress. Our teachers are too.  Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have questions along the way.

We had great participation in our Back to School Night.  The recordings have been posted and sent out if you were unable to participate.  My main message at Back to School Night is to 'Maximize the Moment' this year with every child and situation!

Have a great week!

Joshua DeSmyter

Principal

Parent Digital Consent Form

Parents, to ensure that all students have success with our students this Fall, please explore these FCPS Parent Resources Digital Resources  and submit this Parent Consent form. Please submit this form by Tuesday, September 15th for each child at Shrevewood!

Student's Rights & Responsibilities

Each year FCPS requires each family to review the current Student's Rights & Responsibility Handbook.  This year, there have been significant updates for our virtual learning environment.  Please take time to review the related resources and complete the Parent/Student Form.

Monday's at Shrevewood

Each Monday at SWES students will log in at 9:20. All students will receive small group instruction from their teacher, and may receive additional services from our special education, ESOL, or Advanced Academics team. After students have completed their small groups for the day, they should work asynchronously.  Student's school day will end at 12:20.

Room Parents

As we all adjust to virtual learning and being apart, the PTA is working hard to have room parents in place in each classroom to help families stay connected to school and each other. Thank you to all the parents who have volunteered so far! We are so close to having room parents in place for all of our classes! The following classes still need room parents:

Park-1st

Strickland-1st

Hearin-3rd

Acar-3rd

Tucker-3rd

Aleksejczyk-4th

If you are able to volunteer please email shrevewoodroomparents@gmail.com! Our room parent coordinator, Kym Falkler, will be a helpful resource this year and can assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.
Thanks in advance for stepping up!

Shrevewood Spirit Wear

Even though we aren't in school, let's show we are SHREVEWOOD STRONG from home! Spirit Wear is on sale now! Head to the PTA STORE and check out all the great options: masks, socks, sweatshirts, and even lawn signs to show your Shrevewood Spirit while we are away from the building. You can also view them in this Spirit Wear flyerAll orders are due by September 27th.

NOTE: Spirit Wear will need to be PICKED UP this year (we will provide all information and multiple dates once orders are placed and we have delivery estimates).

Digital Progress Reports

The “Go Paperless” option is now available to all ES parents to allow them to only receive online progress reports starting the first quarter of SY 20/21. This will not impact any other mailings from FCPS other than the progress reports for ES students and report cards for secondary students. To take advantage of the paperless options, parents and/or guardians will need to log into ParentVUE, then go to “My Account” and select "Go Paperless" All parents and/or guardians who live with the student and share the same address must have a SIS ParentVUE account and must select the paperless option to prevent mailing of the printed progress reports. The “Go Paperless” option will apply to all their associated students, no matter what school level. If the associated parent and/or guardian has already selected “Go Paperless” for their secondary student, the option will now apply to any ES siblings as well.
