IT Updates In Parent Vue

Parents may notice in SIS that discipline reports may now be classified as “major”. This is an error due to a system upgrade and the FCPS IT department is working with the vendor to fix this. In the meantime, please do not be alarmed by this erroneous classification. We have been assured that this classification will be removed by December and they are hopeful it will happen sooner.

Reader's Corner

Students with Books

Would your student like to borrow some books to read? Good news! The Fairfax County Public Libraries are open!

In addition, the Library Equity Access Pass or LEAP project is being continued this year. Through this program, students can borrow books from the local library by using their name and school. The library will use the FCPS student ID for their account.

  • Starting October 1, students can check out up to 3 books at a time from any Fairfax County Public Library using their LEAP account.
  • There are no fees charged for late or lost books. However, if books are not returned, students will not be able to borrow more books on their LEAP account.
  • This account is for checking out physical books only. If a student would like to borrow ebooks or use other online resources, they should apply for a standard library card.
  • To get a standard library card, go to Register for a New Library Account online to receive a temporary library card number by email. To get a permanent standard library card, please visit any FCPL branch within three weeks after your online card application.  Photo ID and proof of address are needed to complete the application process.
