Glen Forest: 1st Week Admin Newsletter

What a terrific first week!

Our attendance for the first week of Distance Learning has been impressive! Our attendance rate is over 90%. We still expect every student to attend each day, and throughout the entire school day. We know that challenges persist, and we are working to resolve them quickly. Thank you, to our parents and families for ensuring that your children are “present’ in class each day. Please keep up the great attendance as this will ensure you will get the most out of your educational experience.

Teachers are letting us know that students are engaged and active in their learning. We can hear the excitement in our teachers’ voices when they share news on their class. This not only applies to classroom teachers, but to Specials teachers as well. Students have joined in PE, Art, Music and Library and are very active in their participation. As educators we are so pleased to hear how well our classes are doing and how much participation our students are putting forth. Keep up the great learning!

Please remember that the Monday schedule is different from Tuesday through Friday. There will be a Morning Meeting just like during the Tuesday-Friday schedule, and teachers will assign asynchronous activities to students after Morning Meeting. Some student work may be synchronous, such as small group instruction, Tech, ESOL and Special Education supports.   In general, the Monday will schedule will look something like this:

9:20-9:50

Morning Meeting

9:50-12:20

Asynchronous Assignments, Imagine Learning, ST Math, Small Group Instruction, Tech Support

Choice Boards, Independent Reading/Writing

Thank you very much for your continued support as we head into our most unique year ever! Please contact us if we can help out in any way.

Sincerely,

Glen Forest Administrative Team
