Fairfax Academy,
What a wild few months we have had?!?! We are so happy to have our students back, even if it is virtually. Seeing their smiling faces and hearing their voices in class has definitely brightened everyone's spirits at the Academy this week.
A few important updates:
Our annual Back to School "Night" will be held this coming Monday, September 14 from 11am-12pm and Wednesday, September 16 from 5:30-6:30pm. (Please note that Musical Theatre will meet Monday and Tuesday.) Parents need their student's laptop and BbCU or Google Meet link to connect with our teachers during that time. If you would like to meet with a support team member, please use the following link:
We have received a number of questions about Monday attendance and SEL/advisory block attendance. Students will not be required to attend their Academy classes on Mondays for attendance. For 3rd or 4th period advisory blocks, students from Fairfax High will be the only ones required to attend during Lion Time rotations. Students from other base schools may coordinate time during Monday morning and 4th period to meet with Academy teachers as needed.
ASL textbooks are available for pick up. If your base school is Fairfax High School, please follow the FHS textbook distribution schedule. If you attend another high school, please connect with Ms. Nesbitt for updated textbook distribution information. If you would prefer to come during the day to pick up your book, please contact the Academy office directly at 703-219-2226 to arrange a day and time.
