Weekly Schedule
Monday- Friday students are to join their class at 8:40am to begin the day with Morning Meeting. Teachers will use this time as a first opportunity to mark students present, connect as a community and then continue with the day’s instructional schedule. On Mondays, the morning meeting time will be followed by small groups or independent work.
If for any reason your student(s) will be absent and unable to participate in any live teaching sessions for the day, please remember to send an e-mail attendance message to KingsParkESAttendance@fcps.edu or call our 24 hour attendance line at 703-426-7070.
If your student(s) is unable to log on and will instead engage in learning by watching classroom recordings post on 24-7 Learning or completing assigned work, please send an e-mail attendance message to KingsParkESAttendance@fcps.edu or call our 24 hour attendance line at 703-426-7070 to be counted as present.
This information can also be found on the Kings Park home page.

Learning Schedule
As a reminder Kings Park's school wide schedule is posted here. Please note that your child’s classroom teacher will share weekly updates via email to provide more specific information including scheduled learning for the week.
Laptop Request
Does your child need to checkout a laptop? We are still distributing laptops if needed. To request a laptop, make sure you have completed the laptop request form and email Michelle Crabill, mlcrabill@fcps.edu to set up a pick up time.
Public Library Checkout Soon Available to All Students
Starting October 1st, all FCPS students (PreK-12) will be able to check out from the Fairfax County Public Library, even if they don’t have a traditional library card or that card has been blocked to due to fines. Under the Library Equity Access Pass program (LEAP), a partnership with FCPS and FCPL, students need only their name, not a physical library card, to check out three items at a time for six weeks each (no renewals). LEAP accounts are never charged fines or fees. https://research.fairfaxcounty.gov/c.php?g=726085&p=7812146
A student can have a LEAP account in addition to a standard library account. Standard accounts allow users to place holds on materials and access FCPL’s digital resources, such as eBooks and databases. Families can apply for a standard account online and in library branches. https://research.fairfaxcounty.gov/c.php?g=726085&p=5331335
FCPS Cares
The FCPS Cares Program is an opportunity for parents, staff, and community members to recognize FCPS employees for going above and beyond to help others and show they care. We invite you to submit your story so we can acknowledge our Kings Park staff members.

This week the PTA is hosting a virtual Back to School spirit week -- we hope you'll join in!
Did you order a Kings Park yearbook in the Spring and have not received it yet? Contact Rebecca Henry at rebeccalong3@gmail.com to pick up your yearbook.
The KP/KG PTA's Ice Cream Social and Community Resource Fair is usually a time for our community to gather at the beginning of the school year, enjoy ice cream, and learn about community offerings and activities.
This year the event will be transformed as a virtual community resource for after-school and community activities. This site will be active all year long and contain information on how to join Scouts, camps, sports, and more -- if you have a group you would like us to add, please let Amy Johnson know at kpkgevents@gmail.com.
Save the date for the PTA's next meeting on Thursday, September 17 at 7pm via Zoom. See the PTA's Facebook page or recent newsletter for call in information -- or send an email to kpkgpta@gmail.com to request the call in information. Following the meeting, join us for a discussion with KP and KG's Technology Specialists, Michelle Crabill and Maura Keaney. They will answer your questions, troubleshoot problems, and offer helpful resources.
Every year, the Boosterthon Fun Run is the PTA's largest and most successful fundraiser. Like everything else, the Fun Run will look much different this year. The PTA is excited to host a virtual Boosterthon Dance Fit event starting with an October 5 virtual pep rally and ending with the October 19 virtual event. See the PTA's flier for more information on this fundraiser!
Sincerely,
Dotty Lin
