ACTION NEEDED: Parental Consent for Use of Digital Resources

If your family has not yet reviewed and approved the digital resources used at Robinson SS for the 2020-21 school year, please review the resources using the first link provided below and grant approval using the second link below.

At Robinson Secondary School, our teachers will use a variety of digital resources to support student learning and promote communication and collaboration with students and families. Some of the digital resources your child may use this year will require your consent before they can be used. You can find our school’s list of the resources that require parental consent here:

Included on this page is also a link to a form where the enrolling parent or guardian will need to indicate whether or not their student is allowed to use the list of digital resources this year. This page also provides more information about how FCPS carefully reviews digital resources for approval and why we must request your consent before using certain tools. We encourage you to complete the parental consent for digital resources form as soon as possible, as your child will not be able to use the digital resources until we have received your permission. For example, one of our teacher’s favorite digital tools is Padlet, for which we have a site license. In order to use this tool, we need your consent. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

If your Ram is sick or will be absent from synchronous instruction, please notify Robinson by calling the attendance line at (703)426-6040 and select the appropriate number for your student's Subschool. Additional instruction and information located here.

This week we are excited to share some information about library access, as well as a survey, with the Robinson community.

Did you know your students have access to Robinson’s eBooks, audiobooks, databases, and much more through Robinson’s Library? Please visit the Distance Learning Resources Guide for more information!  This guide also includes information about the Fairfax County Public Library LEAP Program where, beginning October 1st, FCPS students can check out public library books using their FCPS student IDs.

After School Activity Program

virtual club

Stay tuned! Robinson is getting ready to host a virtual club and activity program!

Asynchronous activities will be posted on a new Club & Activity Google Classroom (code forthcoming) by late September and synchronous club meetings will begin in early October. In addition to Robinson sponsored programs, students will have access to a limited number of programs offered at other FCPS region 4 schools.

This will be a great opportunity for students to learn something new, hang out with friends, meet others with similar interests, and/or participate in fitness program! Details will be shared once the first quarter schedule is finalized.

Reminder! Parents must complete the online registration form (link below) in order for their student to participate in our after school programming.  After School Club and Activity Permission Form
