Parental Consent for Select Digital Resources

Our teachers will use a variety of digital resources to support student learning and to promote communication and collaboration with students and families. Some of the digital resources your child may use this year will require your consent before they can be used. Please complete the form at this link to indicate whether or not your student is allowed to use the list of digital resources this year. You will need your child’s student identification number and the phone number or email address you used when you enrolled your child. This page also provides more information about how FCPS carefully reviews digital resources for approval and why we must request your consent before using certain tools. We encourage you to complete the parental consent for digital resources form as soon as possible, as your child will not be able to use the digital resources until we have received your permission.

Free and Reduced Priced Meals

Eligibility for free or reduced priced meals will expire in early October. If you have not already done so, please go to this link to complete and submit the online application. Eligibility for free or reduced priced meals provides families with access to other benefits such as school supplies, backpacks, discounted price of instruments for band and strings and discounted tuition for Parks and Recreation programs.

Grab and Go

Effective September 8th, 2020, Grab & Go service hours will be 8am-12:30pm with both breakfast and lunch being served at the same time. The meal distribution area will remain outside of the school building for parents to walk up or receive curbside service in vehicles. Parents will need to know their child’s student identification number; this is the same number students use to log on to their school laptop. If you need your child’s student identification number, please contact their teacher.

Additionally, Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) buses are delivering grab and go meals along some bus routes. School buses will stop at designated intersections to deliver these meals.

All FCPS students (regardless of age) are eligible for free grab and go breakfast and lunch, as well as other county children, under the age of 18. Adults picking up meals for children should let staff know how many children meals they need. Adults may pay $2 for the meals as well.

The service will be available Monday - Friday only.

Please see the chart below with the arrival and departure time. Arrival times at bus stops may be delayed several minutes due to unexpected issues.

This page also has a link for you to submit a ticket for problems that could occur during online learning. This page also has a link to the directions to help you complete the Application Permissions Form so that your student’s teacher can use online applications to support learning. Fall 2020 iReady Assessment

Dear ATES Parents/Guardians of Students in Grades K-5,

The online iReady assessment (also known as the universal screener) provides an initial view of all students’ foundational skills to help teachers identify students who may have challenges in reading or mathematics. Students in grades K-5 will take the iReady reading assessment. Students in grades 1-5 will take the iReady mathematics assessment. More information about the assessment can be found on the FCPS Universal Screener Parent Notification webpage.

This fall, students will take iReady at home instead of at school. Teachers will discuss the assessment with students in advance, including how to log in and what to expect. Resources to help families administer the assessment at home can be found on the FCPS Universal Screener webpage.

For questions, please contact your child’s teacher.
