Dear Floris Families,
September continues to move along and our routines and expectations are really taking shape. Fall weather has also arrived for now.
It was so exciting to have the first Read and Ride. The next Read and Ride is September 28th from 1-3pm. Watch for details of book choices. We hope to see lots of you here for our next curbside checkout. It was also great to see many of you at the first PTA Meeting of the year Wednesday evening.
Please remember that our Virtual Back to School Nights will be next Tuesday and Thursday. We know that you want to spend time with the teachers on those evenings, and we also have important information to share. You should have received a News You Choose earlier today with video links for our welcome back information video, PTA welcome video, and videos from several School Board Members. By providing you with these videos asynchronously, more BTSN time can be focused on the teachers and details specific to your child's grade and class.
Teachers are sending the invitations with the Back to School Night links. If you have not received the invitation/link by Monday, September 21, please contact your child's teacher.
Have a wonderful weekend! #Eagles:SoaringHigherTogether

AAP (Advanced Academic Programs)
Hello Parents! Please mark your calendar as there will be an AAP information session on Sept 30 at 6:30PM for all parents interested in learning more about Advanced Academic Programs, the levels of service, and the screening and identification process for our AAP programs. A link will be sent as the date approaches.
Also, please be sure to check Mrs. Albanese’s website for updates on AAP programs and optional enrichment ideas for your students. You may also email Mrs. Albanese (Advanced Academics Resource Teacher) with any questions regarding Advanced Academic Programs, abalbanese@fcps.edu .

Tech Support for Families and Students
FCPS Parent Technology Help Desk can be reached at 833-921-3277 (833- 921-FCPS) and will be answered by staff members between 7:00am and 11:00pm, seven days a week. Please note that the help desk is taking calls during those times, and our Technology Support Specialist (TSSpec) will be working on the tickets during regular business hours.
Each week we will be spotlighting a staff member or team to show the amazing things that are happening at Floris. For these first few weeks, we will be spotlighting staff who are new to Floris.
