"Read and Ride" Begins September 14

Beginning Monday, September 14, Floris will be holding a Read and Ride Day every other Monday from 1:00 – 3:00 PM. Read and Ride Day will provide students the opportunity to check-out and return library books from the comfort of their car.

Here’s how the process will work:

  • Our Librarian, Ms. Dowling, will select a wide variety of books for all ages from which students can select up to 3 books.
  • The book topics and subjects will be posted in advance in the Floris Friday Message and on Read and Ride Day.
  • On Read and Ride Day, families will drive up to door one, remain in their car with face masks on, and have a piece of paper with their child’s name and student id number ready. The student will tell the staff member which type of book(s) they want and the books will be delivered to the car.
  • Books may also be returned on this day. Returned books will be quarantined for 7 days prior to check-in.

Book choices for Monday, September 14 include:

  • Mo Willems
  • Diary of a Wimpy Kid
  • a large selection of picture books
