Welcome to Mantua Elementary School

The Mantua staff joins us in welcoming students to the upcoming school year.
Although this is a unique and difficult time, we are excited to connect with students and provide engaging virtual learning experiences.

Summer Updates
- We say goodbye to some excellent teachers. Albert Chong, 6th Grade AAP Teacher has moved to Glasgow Middle School to teach Algebra. Mrs. Corinne Elgert, Kindergarten Teacher, has moved to Oak Hill ES, which gets her closer to her three children. Ms. Melissa Loveday, Second Grade Teacher, has moved to Fredericksburg and will be teaching in another county. Ms. Kierianne Lupari has moved with her fiancé to Maryland and will be teaching in Montgomery County Schools. We are grateful for their phenomenal service to Mantua ES and wish them all the best!
- We will begin the year with approximately 1,000 students. Welcome to all our Mantua Raccoons!
Virtual Individual Conferences
- All classroom teachers will be meeting individually with the students and parents in their classroom during the week of August 31st. Your child’s teacher will be sending out a Sign-Up Genius to allow you to choose available times to connect.
School Starts Virtually Tuesday, September 8, 2020
- School Hours: 9:20am – 4:05pm, Tuesday – Friday, 9:20am – 12:30pm on Mondays Student attendance will be monitored even in a virtual learning mode.
Front Office
- The front office will be staffed from 8:00am – 5:00pm each day, please call to make an appointment. Also remember to follow the FCPS health protocols when coming into the front office.
School/Home Communication
- Information from teachers, PTA, and from Mantua ES will be sent electronically to families. Please make sure your preferred email is updated on your student’s emergency care cards. The following is a link to “weCare@school” FCPS webpage https://www.fcps.edu/node/30943 . This link provides parents with instructions for setting up/changing their information for the FCPS online emergency care information management system. You may also change the paper copy of the emergency care card being mailed to your home and drop off the amended form at the front office.

Parent and Student Technology Support Portal
- FCPS has also set up Parent and Student Technology Support portal at https://itweb.fcps.edu/itsupport/ to allow older students and parents/guardians to request technology help directly. When a support request ticket is entered through the portal, it is auto routed to Mantua’s Technology Support Specialists to expedite service.
