Join the Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO)
@ South County Middle School for 2020 – 2021!
Our purpose is to support, promote, and strengthen the education process for all students through active communication and collaboration between school, home, and the community. Everyone is invited to be part of this process. 100% of membership dues actively support this mission by providing resources for student recognition, instructional materials, staff development, team building, and other school events beyond what the FCPS budget allows.
In addition to joining the PTSO, you can support our school by:
1) Clipping & sending in your unexpired Box Tops.
2) Designating SCMS for your Giant A+ Bonus Card at www.giantfood.com/aplus - our school ID is 1808.
3) Getting involved by volunteering your time and talent. As we start school virtually, we need your support to come up with creative and out-of-the-box ideas to engage with students and teachers!
This year looks quite a bit different from what we’re all used to, so the likelihood of these events taking place are all up in the air, but the following are examples of events held in previous years:

SCMS Spirit Wear – an online spirit wear store will be available mid-August will only be open for ~ 2 weeks. Get your South County spirit wear that will carry you from SCMS to SCHS. - Unity Day – school activities scheduled to show we are united against bullying
- PTSO Membership Meetings
- Annual Staff vs. Student Basketball Game
- Teacher Appreciation Week in May
- 8th Grade End of the Year Celebration
