Dear Shrevewood Families,
This week we welcomed back our entire staff to begin our work together and prepare for our Distance Learning School Kick-Off September 8. They have participated in professional development on engaging instruction, relationship building, and technology fluency. During our reflection this week, teachers left these sessions inspired and enthusiastic about maintaining and developing new relationships with each individual family at Shrevewood ES.
To begin developing those relationships, you will be receiving a phone call from your child's teacher by Friday, August 28, 2020. The following week, you will have a chance to meet the teacher via a virtual Open House. This will be a 20 minute virtual orientation meeting for each individual family to meet the teacher, learn about their virtual classroom, and make sure each family is set up and has access for the first day of school.
We are looking forward to connecting with each of you in multiple ways. We want to assure you that we are here to work in partnership with you and your family. As your teachers begin to reach out to you, please let us know if there is something we can do to support your family as we prepare for our virtual start to the school year.

Have you driven by Shrevewood lately? If so, you have probably noticed all the construction out front. Great news! Our front entrance is being repaved and will be ready for our community whenever we return to school.

Masks will need to be worn by students and adults. Please make sure that you park in the side lot for directions. Any questions, please email our Technology Support Specialist, Tim Nguyen at tvnguyen1@fcps.edu.
** If your student already has a personal laptop to use at home, you may continue to use it. You do not need to have an FCPS laptop to have access to any virtual instruction. If your student will be using a personal laptop for virtual learning, please do not come to laptop distribution on August 24th or August 27th.**
This year, FCPS has provided us with an updated supply list for our community to reference, so you can purchase the materials your child will need to start the school year virtually on September 8.
If you ordered SPROUT supplies through the PTA: You may pick up your SPROUT order at Shrevewood on Tuesday, September 1st from 9-4. You do not need to use the supply below.
If you want to purchase supplies on your own: Please use the list in the image below.
If you are in need of supplies: Please pick up supplemental supplies (supplies that will get you started in Distance Learning) at Shrevewood on Tuesday, September 1st from 9-4.
Thank you to our fantastic parents and teachers volunteers who showed up this week to collect and organize all of our school supplies. Our families will appreciate having the materials to start our virtual school year.
