Laptop Distribution
We will be distributing laptops to all students next week. All 6th and 5th grade students will be issued new laptops. Students in other grades will receive laptops from our current supply.
Laptop Pick Up Times
Staff have begun calling all families with pickup times. If you have not received a phone call by Friday afternoon please contact Mrs. Opie at elopie@fcps.edu.
Walk-ins will not be allowed.
If you have more than one child, you may bring all students at the slot of the oldest sibling.
Pick Up Protocols
When you arrive for your appointment, please pull up to the main entrance. We will greet you at your car window and ask you health screener questions. As we are following health guidelines please only arrive at your assigned time slot.
A staff member will escort your child to an outdoor desk so he/she can sign in to his/her computer to make sure that everything is working correctly before taking it home. Your student will need their username and password from last year. If they are new or can’t remember this information we will provide it during their time slot.
Children must be wearing masks/face coverings to exit the car and login to the laptops. All other family members must stay in the vehicle.
We will have hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes available at each laptop station.
Opting Out
If you do not wish to use a school laptop and prefer to have your child use his/her own personal device, you MUST request an opt out form by contacting Mrs. Opie elopie@fcps.edu.
School Supplies
When students pick up their laptops, they will also be given a bag of school toolkit materials to support learning in the virtual environment to start the year. We would like to thank all of the teachers and the PTA who donated materials to make this possible.
If you need the school supplies from the grade level list we will provide these at this time as well.

Yearbooks
If you pre-ordered a yearbook last school year you will receive it during laptop distribution.
Open House
We are so excited to welcome all families back! This year open house will be virtual. Teachers can’t wait to connect with families and we will send a separate invite to open house early next week with grade level times and principal sessions.
Kindergarten Play Date
Newest Eagles! We want to meet you. Please join us for a virtual play date next Thursday August 27th at 5:30. Ms. Rucinski, Mrs. Opie, and some of the Kindergarten teachers can’t wait to connect, share about Gunston, and meet some new friends! We have some great things planned and can’t wait to “see” you!
