Dear Beech Tree Families,
Thursday, we welcomed our new teachers to our #BeechTreeFamily and on Friday, all staff were welcome to visit their classrooms to go through their instructional materials to get ready for our instructional planning days. It felt a bit like the “Twilight Zone” with all the masks and social distancing, but the warmth definitely came flooding back into our school! Staff will spend the rest of August participating in many professional development requirements and planning for instruction. I know they’re excited to reconnect with each of you, soon!
As I shared before, FCPS bell schedules for virtual learning will more closely resemble the start and end times our schools were using in 2019-20 before the school closure. Beech Tree’s Pre-COVID Schedule was 9:15am – 4:00pm.

*Mondays, we will provide a variety of small group, intervention and enrichment blocks during the first half of the day. Opportunities open to all students will be shared, soon. Intervention, special education services and English Language Development (ELD) services will be by invitation. Mike Meyer, our School-Based Technology Specialist, will also hold Family Tech Office Hours on Monday mornings. Family Tech Office Hours will be a block of time Mr. Meyer will be available to support families with any technology issues.
Rather than assign a specific time to families for laptop distribution, we are assigning a window of time for your to pick up your child’s laptop. Please see below:
- Tuesday, August 18th: 9:30-Noon, 5th Grade Laptop Distribution (Return the laptop loaned to you, if you did not return it last week)
- Tuesday, August 18th: 1:30-4:00pm, 2nd, 3rd, 4th Grade Laptop Distribution & Exchange
- Thursday, August 20th: 9:30-Noon, 1st Grade Laptop Distribution & Exchange
- Thursday, August 20th: 1:00-4:00pm, Kgt Laptop Distribution
- Thursday, August 27th: 9:30-Noon, Preschool Laptop Distribution
*Exchange is for those students whose laptop is having issues
