Greetings Marshall Family!
I wanted to give you an update on all that we know about the 20-21 school year at this point.
Bell Schedule
To begin the year, Tuesday through Friday will be full days of virtual school. Tuesdays and Thursdays will be “Red Days” (1,3,5,7) and Wednesdays and Fridays will be “Blue Days” (2,4,6,8). Period 4 will be a special period for school-wide lessons, teacher office ours, club meetings etc.
Mondays will be used for intervention and office hours for the first few hours of the day and the rest of the day will be used for teacher meetings. The time teachers are meeting should be used by students to complete homework and other school-related work on their own.

Master Schedule
We are working very hard to give every student the best possible schedule. Due to intricacies caused by our situation, this is, and will be, a work in progress. At this point, we plan on releasing schedule in ParentVUE and StudentVUE on September 2nd. If something changes, we will let you know.
Student Laptop Distribution
Laptop distribution for freshmen and newcomers will occur August 20th and 21st from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm. The specifics of pick-up will be sent by the end of this week.
Textbook and Class Material Distribution
Distribution of textbooks and classroom materials will not occur until after the first week of school. This will allow for minor schedule changes to occur before distribution to ensure students are receiving accurate books and materials.
Freshmen Orientation
This year, Freshmen and Newcomer Orientation will be 100% virtual and will be held on August 28, 2020. More information will follow as we get closer.
Back to School Night
Back to School Night will occur September 16, 2020. The format of this event is still in production. More information will follow.
Graduation
Marshall’s graduation date is June 2, 2020 at DAR Constitution Hall at 10:30 a.m.. Decisions about the format of graduation will be based on local and state conditions and will be made as we get closer to the end of the school year. For now, we are keeping our glass half-full!
Questions and Wondering
In order for us to get a better sense of questions and wonderings you may have, we have created a Google Form for you to write down anything you may be thinking so that we can answer as many of your questions in our next edition of this publication. You can find the Google Form here: https://forms.gle/zxxUeF11BSn35jsMA
Despite the unique challenges this year will present, we are very much looking forward to seeing every one of our Statesmen on September 8th.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey D. Litz
Principal
