Dear Fairview Families,
I hope you are doing well and staying safe. Today, Wednesday, July 15th, 2020, is the deadline to make your selection for your child's enrollment for this school year. As a reminder, the option you choose is a year-long commitment.

Here are the options:
- If you choose the online option, our teachers will provide instruction Tuesday – Friday, and we will provide independent assignments for Mondays. Unlike during the crisis teaching last spring, attendance will be mandatory, and teachers will grade assignments as they do when we are in person. You can see more details here.
- If you choose the in-person option, students will be in class with teachers 2 days per week, and we will provide independent assignments for the other days. You can see details about the plan for social distancing and other details here.
- Please note, that if no selection is made, the default will be to place your child in the in-person option for the 2020-2021 school year.
To help clarify further: Synchronous learning is ‘live’ with a teacher while Asynchronous learning is independent and through assigned lessons, videos, and recordings.
I know this feels like a daunting decision for many. I encourage you to consider what is best for your family and what will support your child’s needs. I will continue to keep you updated as I receive additional and updated information about next steps. We remain FAIRVIEW STRONG.

How do families notify FCPS of their choice for full-time online or in-person instruction for their child(ren) for the 2020-21 school year?
Please complete the enrollment form and select the program option that works best for your child or children. Parents may access the form by visiting https://www.fcps.edu/enroll2020. Translations of the form are available using the language selection option on the web page.
*Please call Fairview at 703-503-3700 if you do not have internet access and need assistance.
Directions for parents to select the option that best fits their student’s health and welfare concerns are below:
- STEP 1: Access the online form at: https://www.fcps.edu/enroll2020
- STEP 2: Login with your child’s Student ID and either the enrolling parent’s email address or phone number on file in the FCPS Student Information System (SIS).
- STEP 3: Make your selections and finish by clicking the “Submit Form” button at the bottom of the form.
- STEP 4: Check your email receipt of your intent with additional information about the enrollment process and a link to change your selection if desired.
- STEP 5 Repeat this process for each of your children attending school in FCPS for school year 2020-21.
The new deadline to complete the form is July 15, 2020.

Summer Learning Virtual Office Hours
These office hours will be offered to answer questions, review an activity, or provide feedback for the practice book. Please sign up for your secure link on this google form as soon as possible. If you have any questions please contact Rachel Bowerman, rmbowerman@fcps.edu.
Continuity of Learning: Summer Resources
The Summer Practice Books will be coming out later this month, so be on the look-out in your mailboxes. Digital versions of the practice books and the answer keys will also be posted on the Continuity of Learning Blackboard page.
iReady digital lessons through the FCPS public Universal Screener website include skill practice in math and language arts. Students will need to enter their FCPS login credentials to access these resources. These digital activities will be available until Friday, July 31st. Summer BINGO Boards

2019-2020 Yearbook Update
The yearbook has been submitted to Lifetouch to be produced. We expect to receive the books sometime at the beginning of August. Distribution details will be shared once the delivery is complete.
