All parents\guardians of students registered at Hunters Woods ES for the 2020-2021 school year should have received an email from Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) which provided you with a link asking you to select your preference for distance learning or in-school learning for the fall.
The plan offers families two choices:
- Option 1: Full-time online instruction. Students will take part in virtual, teacher-directed instruction four days a week. Details.
- Option 2: Students will receive at least two full days of instruction in school each week. Students will be engaged in independent study and work on the days they are not in the school building. Details.

Deadline to select student enrollment options is Wednesday, July 15. If no response is received by the 15th, the student will automatically be enrolled for in-person instruction for the year.
- Student ID is needed to complete the survey. Student ID numbers can be found in your ParentVue account or on your child’s progress report. If you have any trouble finding the ID number, please contact Lamiaa Salama at lasalama@fcps.edu.

Stories Under the Stars
Wednesday, July 15 | 7:00 pm – 7:30 pm
Grab your flashlights and “tents”, and join us tomorrow night for Stories Under the Stars from 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm in the HWES Stories Under the Stars BBCU classroom.
All students (K-6) who were enrolled at HWES during the 2019-2020 school year were sent a NEW BBCU invite (to their school email account ending in @fcpsschools.net) to the HWES Stories Under the Stars BBCU Virtual Classroom!
This week’s Stories Under the Stars theme is “Be Kind!” On July 15th at 7:00 pm, Ms. Matyac and Mrs. Vedder will share stories that inspire us to be kind. Our host will be our principal, Mrs. Cope! We hope your family can join us!
