Stories Under the Stars
Tonight! Wednesday, July 8th
The fun continues tonight! Grab your flashlights and “tents”, and join us for Stories Under the Stars from 7:00 to 7:30 pm in the HWES Stories Under the Stars BBCU classroom.
All students (K-6) who were enrolled at HWES during the 2019-2020 school year were sent a NEW BBCU invite (to their school email account ending in @fcpsschools.net) to the HWES Stories Under the Stars BBCU Virtual Classroom!
This week's Stories Under the Stars theme is “Science is Awesome!” Tonight at 7:00 pm, Mrs. Owens and Mrs. Negri will share stories that will inspire the scientist in you! We hope your family can join us!
HWES Return to School Question & Answer Sessions
Monday, July 13th Session (1) 12:00 pm - 12:45 pm Session (2) 4:30 pm - 5:15 pm
Mrs. Cope will host two (virtual) Information Sessions on Monday, July 13th. You are invited to join either of the session times (12:00 pm - 12:45 pm or 4:30 pm - 5:15 pm).
This will be an opportunity for us to share information and answer questions around the two Return to School Options for the upcoming school year. The enrollment option deadline has been extended to July 15.

FCPS Student Enrollment for Fall
Deadline to Select Option is Extended to July 15
All parents\guardians of students registered at Hunters Woods ES for the 2020-2021 school year should have received an email from Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) last week which provided you with a link asking you to select your preference for distance learning or in-school learning for the fall.
The plan offers families two choices:
- Option 1: Full-time online instruction. Students will take part in virtual, teacher-directed instruction four days a week. Details.
- Option 2: Students will receive at least two full days of instruction in school each week. Students will be engaged in independent study and work on the days they are not in the school building. Details.

Deadline to submit your student(s) enrollment option has been extended to Wednesday, July 15. If no response is received by the 15th, the student will automatically be enrolled for in-person instruction for the year.
- Student ID is needed to complete the survey. Student ID numbers can be found in your ParentVue account. If you have any trouble finding the ID number, please contact Lamiaa Salama at lasalama@fcps.edu.
