Justice Newsletter - July 5, 2020

A Note from Principal Eck

Last week the Justice Pyramid Principals hosted two town hall meetings to discuss the options for school choice. Families have a choice of in-school learning for students with health and social distancing protocols in place or an online, virtual learning option at the family’s request. Families will need to decide by July 10th if they will enroll their child for in-person or online learning for the coming 2020-2021 school year. It is very important that all families complete this enrollment form for each child in FCPS so that schools can ensure adequate staffing for online and in-person classes.

In addition, FCPS Superintendent Scott S. Brabrand, Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Services Sloan Presidio, and director of the office of special education procedural support Jane Strong will host a virtual Town Hall on Monday, July 6, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. View the livestream on fcps.edu/tv/ch99 or Channel 99 (Verizon, 11). Ask questions before or during the forum by emailing ReturntoSchool@fcps.edu or calling 1-800-231-6359 (during the forum). Questions will be answered about the Return to School options for the 2020-21 school year. A Spanish language virtual town hall will be held on Wednesday, July 8, at 6:30 p.m. on Facebook en espanol, featuring Dr. Brabrand and other FCPS officials.

Ms. Spaulding, Director of Student Services and I would like to offer our families the opportunity to ask questions that are Justice High School specific. On Wednesday, July 8th, from 11:00am to Noon (English) and 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM (Spanish), we will be holding a Justice HS Town Hall. Please RSVP to be sent the link prior to the session. Using the link, you may submit questions before to the meeting.

I thank you in advance for your continued patience and support as we continue to navigate through these new developments.

Summer Learning Opportunities

From Monday, July 6th – Friday, July 31, Justice students will have the opportunity to take advantage of the Continuity of Learning program which is a free summer program that offers Justice High School students an opportunity to review concepts and skills using recommended self-directed digital materials.  Materials will not be collected or graded.

The digital materials will be housed on the FCPS 24-7 learning Mathematics and English sites  (Summer Learning Materials). Justice teachers will be available each week through office hours to assist students with the digital materials or other learning goals that they may be working on throughout the summer.

Here are a list of teachers and times available. Please email teachers to receive link to office hours.
