Dear Families,
I hope this email finds you well. We are very excited to announce that Mrs. Ipsa Stringer has accepted the position of Assistant Principal at Willow Springs Elementary School. I know that each of you will find her love for students, her strong understanding of best practices in teaching, and her approachable demeanor to be a wonderful asset to an already amazing school.
Mrs. Ipsa Stringer has been working in FCPS for the past 15 years. For the past two years, Mrs. Stringer served as an Assistant Principal at Hunters Woods Elementary School for the Arts and Sciences in Reston. Prior to that, she was a classroom teacher in 2nd, 5th, and 6th grades, an Advanced Academic Resource Teacher, and a Science Resource Teacher. A common thread through all her assignments has been a commitment to developing strong relationships with students, teachers, and families within the community she serves. As an Assistant Principal, Mrs. Stringer supported multiple grade levels and worked with her teams to go through the collaborative learning cycle to best plan and support student growth. She works to provide meaningful and authentic, growth-producing feedback to teachers to ensure best practices in all content areas. Mrs. Stringer has led professional development opportunities for staff and has consistently remained engaged in the important work around equity. With relationships at the forefront of her work, she has built strong connections with students over the years within the mentoring program. Mrs. Stringer firmly believes in supporting teachers while creating a challenging academic environment that engages all students through the Portrait of a Graduate attributes. Outside of school, Mrs. Stringer enjoys spending time with her family, baking with her daughter (a rising 4th grader), and walking her two dogs. Mrs. Stringer is excited to make connections and to get to know the Willow Springs community in what is shaping up to be an exciting and unique school year.
