FCPS Offices Closed in Observance of Juneteenth

To register your student for office hours and receive a secure link, please complete this sign up for CONTINUTY OF LEARNING. Once registered, your child will receive log-in information via their FCPS Google email address prior to the first session. Please fill out this form by June 24th.
The Fairfax County School Board’s agenda today includes a resolution acknowledging the historical significance and importance of Juneteenth, observed annually on June 19th. Additionally, all FCPS employees join state and county employees in observing Friday, June 19 as an official holiday. Juneteenth commemorates the day in 1865 that word of the Emancipation Proclamation and the end of the Civil War finally reached enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, effectively marking the end of slavery in the United States.
In a letter to FCPS employees, Superintendent Scott Brabrand expressed his support for the observance and encouraged all employees to use the day to reflect and learn. His letter to staff is posted here.

If you or anyone you know, has a child who will be five by September 30, 2020, or needs to register a new student, please direct them to our school website where they will find the information for how to register during this time so that we can get them information as soon as possible.
Children who are five by September 30, 2020 are eligible to enter kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year. Registration details are available on our FES website at: https://forestvillees.fcps.edu/new-student-registration-2020-21. Visit the Kindergarten Registration page on the FCPS Kindergarten Registration website for required registration packets.
Once your child’s registration forms have been received by our school registrar, you will be kept updated with any pertinent information. After visiting the websites, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact our school registrar, Ms. Huong Tran at httran2@fcps.edu.
