Summer Continuity of Learning
Although FCPS school buildings will remain closed through the end of July, we will continue to provide recommended distance learning opportunities for students throughout the summer. Your students will have access to three different resources:
- Students can build math and literacy skills through the iReady digital lessons accessed through the FCPS public Universal Screener website. Students will need to enter their FCPS login credentials to access these resources. These reading and math digital activities will be available until Friday, July 31st.
- Students currently in grades K-6 will receive both a Mathematics and a Language Arts Essentials Summer Practice Book in the mail by the end of June. Digital versions of the books will also be posted on the Continuity of Learning Blackboard page. These books will provide recommended practice activities for students to review essential content from the 2019-2020 school year; they are not intended to preview content from next year’s grade level but rather reinforce essential learning from this past year.
- As students practice skills addressed in the Summer Practice Books, they will have the opportunity to attend one virtual session each week with one of our own outstanding staff members. To register your student for office hours and receive a secure link, please complete this form. Once registered, your child will receive log-in information via their FCPS Google email address prior to the first session.
The schedule is as follows:
Free Food Distribution on June 25
A free distribution of refrigerated milk, dairy, and produce will occur in our community on Thursday, June 25th from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at The Journey Church 6427 Franconia Rd, Springfield 22150.
This event is open to any family in need, no documentation required.
This will be a contact-less drive-thru distribution.
If you do not have transportation to pick up food boxes, contact Maria Franco-Nativi at 703-704-6700 to determine if you qualify for delivery.
Yearbooks
If you ordered a yearbook, we have not forgotten about you. The shutdown delayed printing, and we do not have our yearbooks on site yet. When they arrive, we’ll share information regarding how to pick up/receive your yearbook. Thanks for your patience.
Lost & Found
We’ll be donating items from our Lost & Found next week. If you would like to claim your child’s items from lost & found, please contact Cindy Morris at eemorris@fcps.edu to make an appointment to search for a missing item.
