Tomorrow's 6th Grade Drive "Bye" |
Friday, June 12th, 9:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
How are you going to make your final appearance at Willow Springs? Decorate your cars and wave to your current, as well as former teachers, as you bid farewell to elementary school. It has been a ‘wacky’ year so why not be a part of this ‘wacky’ sendoff. Teachers will have all of your belongings ready for you along with some special surprises. Come by and show us your smiles one last time!
Families, please see a few reminders below:
- Make sure your child’s first and last name is written boldly in the passenger side window to help with the contactless exchange.
- To avoid traffic on Braddock Rd and Willow Springs Rd, please do not arrive more than five minutes early.
- There will be an opportunity to take pictures with the congratulatory marquee and decorations! If you choose to do so, after driving through the parade, please park your car at the baseball field and walk over.
- Continue to spread the joy and excitement to our 6th graders! We could not be more proud of them and we are so excited to see everyone on Friday!

During this unprecedented time of uncertainty, one thing that hasn’t “shutdown” is the fine arts. Many have turned to art, music, dance, and literature to escape, to feel, to connect, and to heal. We have missed connecting, rehearsing, planning, and -- most of all -- singing with our WS Chorus Family for 12 weeks. Schools closed just as we were a third of the way through preparations for our spring musical, “Frozen, JR”.
In lieu of a live show, our performance license grants us the option of producing fan videos. We’d like to recognize Madelyn Regan, our beloved Elsa, for her incredible idea and execution of what you’re about to view: an online version. By creatively stringing together fan videos with story-line peppered throughout, Madelyn has gifted us a moment that would have otherwise passed us by under current circumstances.
You may have recently seen choral, band, or orchestral groups on social media presenting “virtual concerts” with squares of performers perfectly synchronized, as if they were all together in the same room. The editing and syncing required to produce something like that are quite extensive and tedious; there are usually several people using various equipment and software. To tackle this challenge head-on, as sixth graders, is absolutely incredible!
You will notice in the opening video and video descriptions that there are a few legal requirements related to posting these videos anywhere outside of our school’s platform. Please read carefully. We appreciate your partnership in adhering to copyright laws and licensing agreements.
We want to sincerely thank each and every one of these performers. You are so courageous and so, so talented. We are extremely proud of you. To our sixth grade chorus members - we will miss you and we hope to stay in touch!
