Fairfax County Public Schools is excited to offer a free arts enrichment program to its current students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. The Online Fine Arts Summer Learning Program will offer a variety of classes in art, music, theatre and dance.

  • For elementary students, the classes include art, stitchery and weaving, Claymation and recycled art, general music, drumming, contemporary music, 6th grade band, 6th grade strings, theatre, and dance.
  • For secondary students, the classes include cartooning, cell phone photography and animation, digital art, exploratory drawing and painting.

The Summer Learning Program is available at this link, click here.  Students must use their FCPS email address in order to access the site. The address would be the students ID number followed by @fcpsschools.net. Registration is not required.

The site is online now. You are encouraged to read more about the program and classes before the program begins on July 6.

Specific details to note are below:

Elementary:

New content by the teacher will be posted every Monday. In most cases, there is no synchronous instruction. In a limited number of classes, there is the option for synchronous with parental permission. Please read class description for more information.

Secondary:

New content will be released on each Monday for secondary students.  Students in grades 7-12 can participate in synchronous instruction two days week, decided on by the teacher.  Links to access synchronous instruction will be provided once the program begins.

We have focused on bringing these classes to families at a low or no cost amount for supplies.  Each page has listed supplies that are required or suggested by the instructor.

The teachers are working very hard and creating some wonderful classes, and we hope you can join us this summer!
