Dear Family Fairfax,
As we approach our final week of school, our teachers and students are putting their finishing touches on final opportunities for a grade bump and planning their virtual goodbyes. It was fun to see many of our seniors during cap and gown pickup and items drop-off, and we are all looking forward to their Graduation Photo Op on June 12th and June 15th. Here is hoping that the weather holds out for us to honor them the way we should!
You’ve recently received a letter from our Fairfax Pyramid Principals, and I am proud to have signed it. With the many disheartening, disparaging, and disappointing events of recent, the outrage and hurt felt by our Black and African-American citizens, and our inability to help our students find a voice, empowering our parents with tools and resources to consider in supporting a wider conversation. In case you missed those resources, they are here:
Our Student Services Department has planned an open forum for our students next week. You can find information below, and our Pyramid is in the process of planning a Town Hall Meeting soon with each one of your Pyramid Principals present. We stand together and in solidarity in our unified commitment to do better, and we hope to gain information and ideas about how we, as a school community, can improve for our students. More details to come.
Most respectfully,
Erin B. Lenart, Ed.D.

Support Sessions for Students:
The Fairfax Equity Team will be hosting two student forums: A support session for our Black and African American Students and a session for Allies for Racial Justice. Our hope is to provide an opportunity for students to share feelings, ideas, and experiences given the current events in a safe and moderated space with trained educators. These will be offered in a video chat format on Wednesday, June 10th at 3pm, with the possibility of other times in the future. All students interested must register in advance and will be enrolled in blackboard class. Students should check their fcpsschools.net email for the sign-up. We want you to know we are here for your students. We are all in this together.
All Fairfax HS underclassmen will be keeping their laptops until the Fall of 2020. Students need to have access to equipment for summer assignments and continued learning opportunities.

Parents are required to log into www.MySchoolBucks.com and from the homepage dashboard and click “Remove Student." Click the box under “Remove?” for the graduating student’s name.
Free/Reduced Letters
During our current school closing, many families are requesting Free/Reduced letters to assist them with receiving additional benefits available to them. When these requests are made from families, the following step should be taken:
- Parents/guardians in need of a copy of their child’s Free and Reduced Meals Eligibility Notification Letter may request a replacement document by contacting the Office of Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) at: fcpsmealsaps@fcps.edu or 703-813-4800.
