A Message From the Principal

Dear Sangster Community,

Like so many of you, I have been watching what is unfolding around the nation and I’m pained by these recent tragedies.  I want to acknowledge the hurt, anger, frustration, and pain that exists among FCPS staff and community.  Racism and hate have no place in FCPS or anywhere.  Hate and oppression across our country cannot be ignored.  There are many situations and instances of racism, hate, and oppression across our country, particularly for Black people. To our African American families and staff, I want you to know that we see you, we believe in you, and we stand with you.

We must lean on one another.  We need to embrace each other’s differences so that we can create a better future.  It starts with self-examination and listening to those whose lives and perspectives are different from our own.   Like you, I hope for justice, compassion, and empathy in our lives and community.  I continue to be hopeful that something better is on the horizon as we care for one another – all people, all human beings.

Below are some resources to support you in this important dialogue, as you process thoughts and feelings with the children and people around you.  Please do not hesitate to reach out for anything.  I wish for all of you strength, peace and health.  #OtherPeopleMatter

Sincerely,

Lisa M. Reddel
