June 4 (Thursday): PTA Meeting conducted virtually, last meeting before summer break.
June 12 (Friday): Last Day of school.
Last Chance to see Teachers
Hopefully by now you’ve seen the schedule for your student to pick up their belongings left in school at the time of the closure. On the day that you are scheduled, it is very likely that your classroom teacher will be there at Mantua handing those belongings back to students. This would be a great time for you to give them any cards or gifts, or to just wish them well for the summer. They’ve worked so hard and I know that many are looking forward to the chance to see their students one last time for the year.
Library News
Students and parents should have received an email notice from the library with a list of any books a child currently has out. Please try to locate any of the books that may at home and bring them back on your designated drop off day the last week of school. Please note that these notices may include books that were left in the classroom. Those books will make their way back to us in the next few weeks. Please reach out to Katie Marmol (kgmarmol@fcps.edu) or Michelle Hawk (mahawk@fcps.edu) with any questions. Thank you!

Picking Up of Student Belongings – Week of June 8th
The process for picking-up student belongings is taking place in both the Bus Loop and the Kiss and Ride Loop, please see the schedule below for day, time and location by homeroom teacher. Pick-up will occur as a curbside drive-up. As we are speaking through masks, it speeds up the process and is very helpful if you write your son/daughter’s full name on a large piece of paper and display it through the window when you drive up to the designated pick-up locations. A bag with your son/daughter’s belongings will be brought to your vehicle. If you have library books, instruments or patrols belts to drop off there will be someone there to collect these items from you.
PLEASE STAY IN YOUR CAR. No walk-ups are permitted.
There is not currently an alternative schedule for the return of items. If you are unable to make your scheduled pick-up, please work with another family from the same homeroom to pick-up your child’s belongings and send an email to the homeroom teacher. With approximately 1,100 bags of belongings, we cannot distribute belongings across classrooms or organize by family, thank you for your understanding. Our goal is to move through this pick-up process quickly and keep the line moving. To make this happen, it is also important that you arrive within the pick-up window listed below.
