Bren Mar Park spirit continues to shine!
Dear BMP Families,
We hope that this week's newsletter finds you and your family enjoying the Memorial Day weekend with some rest, relaxation and fun! Please remember that there is no school tomorrow due to the holiday. Even though it is a holiday, we are pleased to announce that we are able to host food service during our regularly scheduled times, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm.
Have a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend!
Your Partners in Education,
Elizabeth Williams and Erin Lear
The Bren Mar Park Admin Team
The Bren Mar Park PTA invites families to join the virtual General Membership Meeting on Thursday, May 28th at 6:30 pm. During this time, we will celebrate the PTA successes from this school year, share plans looking forward, update families on nominations and volunteer opportunities and hear updates from BMP Principal, Elizabeth Williams, followed by a question and answer session. A link will be sent to families prior to the meeting.
Would you like to have the PTA continue to support the school with funding assemblies, supporting field trips, providing community engagement and enrichment activities, among so much more?
It's PTA election season for the 2020-2021 school year and we are in need of new volunteers to step up. Additional hands are needed to continue running at the level we do! Brief descriptions of opportunities can be found here. Specifically, we are seeking people with the passion and skills to cover our vacant Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, and VP of Communications positions.
To submit your interest or nominate someone else, please complete this nomination form no later than Tuesday, May 26. If you are interested but would like more information before deciding, reach out to the Bren Mar Park PTA at bmp.pta@gmail.com. Look for an electronic ballot on March 27 for Executive Board positions of president, VP, Treasurer, and Secretary. Electronic voting will be completed no later than May 28.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to bmp.pta@gmail.com with any questions.

We continue to follow the guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and the Fairfax County Health Department. To limit the amount of people and support 6 feet of separation, we will use a distance physical line. This means that you may have to wait. We also ask that each student come with only ONE parent to help minimize crowds.
We will also ask the following pre-screening health questions to see if you are eligible for participation:
- Do you have a cough or sore throat?
- Have you had a fever in the last 3 days?
- Do you have any shortness of breath?
- Is anyone in your house ill with a fever or cough?
- Have you had any contact with someone known to have or under investigation for Coronavirus in the last 14 days?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions, you will have to be rescheduled for a later date and time.
While online orders are no longer being accepted, families can still choose to purchase a yearbook while supplies last. The price is $15 per yearbook. CASH ONLY will be accepted for purchase on Friday, May 29th (during K-2 laptop distribution) or Friday, June 5th (during student item drop off and pick up).
Have you moved or are planning to move before the next school year?
Please let us know so that we can change your mailing address for FPCS Learning Packet deliveries! Your child may stay until the end of the school year even if you have moved out of our boundary or county.
To report an address change or temporary residence change, please contact Jenny Lim at (703) 914-7203 or jjlim@fcps.edu.
