Essential Item Pickup and Dropoff Information

Essential Item Pickup

Pickup of your child(ren)’s essential items will take place this Friday, May 29th.  This is only for families who responded to the google form sent last week.  The pickup schedule was emailed to those families yesterday by Jade Horne.  Please email her with questions at jahorne@fcps.edu.

Instructions for pickup on May 29th are below:

∙ Please submit the health questionnaire before coming to school.  If you answer “yes” to any of the questions, do not come to pick up essential items.
We ask that you please wear a face mask when on school property.
∙ Parents will only be able to pick up essential items for their own child(ren).
∙ Drivers should enter the bus loop in front of the school.  Please make a sign with your child’s first and last name to display when you pull through the bus loop.  Staff members will be available to radio your name ahead to runners, who will gather your belongings.
∙ Once a staff member has taken your name, open the trunk of your vehicle so that we may put items in the trunk.  We ask that you remain in your vehicle at all times. Please arrive on Friday morning at the following time based on your last name:
     ∙  9:00am – 10:00am (Last Names A-H)
     10:00am – 11:00am (Last Names I-P)
     11:00am – Noon (Last Names Q-Z)

As a reminder, to promote healthy practices and social distancing, vehicle occupants must remain in their own cars

Student Items to Drop Off

If you have items (classroom supplies, library books, patrol belts, instruments, or laptops) to drop off, please do this on Friday.  Please label items with a post it note and place them in the trunk.  Sixth grade students will drop off their items when they pick up their certificate on June 11th.

Moving or not returning to Oak Hill

If your family is moving or not returning to Oak Hill, we will be collecting items on Friday, June 12th from 9-11am.

Do I Have Library Books Checked Out?

li

Hello Oak Hill Families!  Please watch this video from our librarian, Ms. Henry, to find out what books your child has checked out from the Oak Hill library.  Then connect to the library catalog with this link

Please keep in mind that your child may have left their library books in their classroom at school. These books will make their way to the library as the classrooms are prepared for summer cleaning and will be checked in at a later date.

If you’d like to return your child’s library books before summer begins, you have a few options.

  1. You may drop them off at your assigned time for essential items pick-up on Friday, May 29.
  2. If you are a 6th grader you may drop them off on June 11th when you pick up your certificate.
  3. You may drop them off on June 12th between 10:00-12:00.

You are also welcome to keep the books safe at home over the summer and return them when school reopens in the fall.  If you have any questions about your child’s account, please email Ms. Henry: jlhenry@fcps.edu.

Stay safe and happy reading!

Ms. Henry

Band and Strings Information

m

Dear 4th,  5th and 6th grade Students and Parents,

Next year all 4th grade students will get the opportunity to play a string instrument and all 5th and 6th grade students have the choice between band and strings.  Students that choose to join the band or strings will participate in a 60-minute lesson once a week during normal school hours. Oak Hill uses a block schedule for band and strings, pairing instrument classes with general music, which means that students will not miss class to come to band or strings.

Since we are still virtual, students will be getting the opportunity to meet with Mrs. Davis and Ms. Geers over the next few weeks during their virtual class time. They will get to see the instruments that are offered for band and strings (4th grade only for strings) and will have the opportunity to ask any questions they might have. All rental information will be provided at the beginning of the school year before classes take place.

Please register by June 12. You will hear from us when it gets closer to the next school year.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us. We are very much looking forward to being back in school and making music with your children!!

Student Registration

reg

Schools remain closed to families; however, if you have a rising kindergartener or other new student to register, we would like to do a preliminary registration now.  If you know of any families that would be new to Oak Hill (that have rising kindergarteners or students in grades 1-6), please forward this information to them.  Early registration for next year is important as it ensures that we are appropriately staffed.  To begin the registration process please click here.
