From the Principal's Desk:

May 22, 2020

Dear Kilmer Families,

It is hard to believe that it is already Memorial Day Weekend. Hopefully the weekend will bring some nice spring-like weather and we can enjoy time outdoors.

We continue to be proud of the hard work and engagement of our students in the Distance Learning Environment. I have enjoyed visiting classes and seeing the great learning focused on topics such as the structure and function of DNA and best practices for research. I also enjoyed visiting one of the book clubs that our librarians are sponsoring.

We recognize that we have all needed to learn new skills and habits during this time and the adjustment can be challenging. We appreciate your partnership as we continue to navigate these times. Embedded into this edition of News You Choose is information about the Student Services Website that has resources to support Distance Learning.

Sincerely,

Amy Miller

Principal

8th Grade Team Recognition: June 10, 2020 12:15-1:00

Although we find ourselves in a new Distance Learning environment, we want to recognize and acknowledge the great successes of our Kilmer 8th grade students and provide closure for our students . On Wednesday June 10th 12:15-1:00 (PAWS), each 8th grade team will host a virtual recognition ceremony.  All students will access the ceremony via Blackboard Collaborate Ultra and will receive the link information as the date approaches. We encourage all students to attend their team’s ceremony.

Families of award winners will be notified via e-mail the week of June 1st.  Although not every student will receive a recognition, we know the primary focus of the ceremony will be to provide closure for our students and an opportunity for our staff to impart some final remarks on the year.

Any questions please contact Chris Musgnug at ccmusgnug@fcps.edu.
