POSITIVITY PROJECT

P2

The Positivty Project will continue for the remainder of the year as we revisit some of the characteristics that were missed while school was closed and before distance learning began.  Next week, we will focus on the "Love of Learning."  Those who exemplify love of learning are intrinsically motivated and engaged in a topic regardless of achieving an external standard. They enjoy learning simply for the sake of learning. They don’t need a prize or a high grade as a reward. Their reward is the process of doing the work and improving. #otherpeoplematter

STUDENT ITEM PICK-UP

Lake Anne will be hosting curbside pick-up for student items that are still in the school building.  Pick-up will take place on Friday, May 22nd and Friday, May 29th between 1-5pm on both days. Each class will be assigned a specific day/time to come pick-up their items. We will send out a schedule next week based on homeroom teacher.  Staff members will pack individual bags for each student. If you are not interested in picking up items or would like to donate them to the school, please contact your child's teacher and express this desire.

WLAS MORNING NEWS

WLAS Morning News is looking for more student submissions for their Dolphin #FeatureFriday segment where they highlight the amazing skills and talents of our our Lake Anne family.  If you have a video or picture of your child that you would like to share, please send it to WLASStudio@gmail.com.  If you missed it this morning, check out today's WLAS Morning News Show and our amazing artists that we have at Lake Anne.

STUDENT MEDICINE PICK-UP

We were successfully able to return personal student medication to most families today.  Thank you for helping make this a smooth process.  If you were unable to make it today and your child still has medicine in the clinic that needs to be picked up, please contact Jihoon Shin at jshin@fcps.edu to make arrangements.

2020-2021 SCHOOL INTENTION

As the school year ends in a rather uncertain state, we are attempting to begin planning for next school year.  Information from you regarding students who will not be returning to Lake Anne Elementary School next year will be most helpful as we make sure we have the right number of instructional staff to support our students.  If your child(ren) will not be returning to Lake Anne for the 2020-2021 school year, please let our Student Information Assistant, Melinda Rivas, know by sending her an email at mmrivas@fcps.edu.  In your email message please provide her with the following information:

Where will the student(s) be attending school next year:

Thank you in advance for your assistance.
