Dear BMP Families,
Thank you so much for your continued efforts in helping us support your child during these times. As we approach the end of the school year, with the last day of virtual instruction being held on Thursday, June 11, 2020, you will be receiving more information about how we will be closing out the school year. Teachers are already beginning the process of packing up student supplies for return and plans are underway to ensure safe opportunities for items to be picked up as well as dropped off by families.
As teachers are coming into the building to support with these preparations, small group instruction may be rescheduled by your child's classroom teacher. Please be on the lookout for any information about the need to reschedule a child's small group instruction in the upcoming weeks.
While more details about student-item pick up will be coming shortly, we ask that you start to collect school items to be returned to the school building such as dictionaries, guided reading books, library books, and items such as instruments and patrol belts. As virtual learning opportunities are still being considered, at this time we will not be collecting any technology (laptop, charging cords, case, or MiFis) unless a student is moving and will not be returning to Bren Mar Park. Additional information will be coming out about FCPS-owned instruments as well as for families of grade 5 students.

BMP loves our volunteers! Our staff appreciates all you do for our students and community. Volunteers are essential to our success whether it’s a PTA board member, classroom reader, school event volunteer, family market volunteer or field trip chaperone... you enrich our students lives. We had hoped to officially say "thank you" in-person to our volunteers during our volunteer appreciation week, and we hope that you sense the depth of our gratitude virtually!
Our volunteers come in many forms and give of their time and talents in many ways. PTA President, Barbara Alston has been leading our PTA in successfully building a stronger BMP network throughout the year alongside our many fabulous members of the PTA board. We’d love to give a special shout out to them for their yearlong efforts to provide community building events in which everyone can participate!
Thank you to our wonderful community volunteers who come weekly like Barbara King who supports our clinic, Rozenna Hall who helps coordinate volunteers and helps keep our Book Room organized, Dr. Calvey who supports our STEM lab, and Jennifer Donaldson who helps weekly wherever she is needed.
Thank you to our volunteers that help feed our families like Walter and Roxanna Torres and Kristen Ward who support our Family Markets each month and Kristen Melita who prepares and distributes our weekly backpack meals. And, there are SO MANY MORE... from guest readers and field trip chaperones, we appreciate you!
And, thank you to the many teachers and staff who volunteer at events long after their work day is done! Your generous gifts of time and effort are appreciated and help make BMP a caring community.
The Bren Mar Park technology team is working to coordinate providing laptop access to families of children in grades K-2 who do not already have access to a computer or tablet for distance learning. Please be on the lookout for more information to come via email.
Have you moved or are planning to move before the next school year?
Please let us know so that we can change your mailing address for FPCS Learning Packet deliveries! Your child may stay until the end of the school year even if you have moved out of our boundary or county.

Yearbook sales are moving online! Order your yearbook at ybpay.lifetouch.com. The school ordering code is 11105220. The price is $15 per yearbook. Orders will be accepted while supplies last! We are planning to distribute yearbook, along with any Spring photos, at the same time that students will be returning school laptops in June.
Please join us for our coming BMP Spirit Days, scheduled for every Thursday. We invite families to participate and email pictures to your child's teacher or Mrs. Williams, or post photos on our BMP Twitter page. We would love to keep sharing the photos of our school community!
This Thursday's Spirit Day is Blue & White Day. Celebrate our school colors by wearing a school shirt or just showing off our Mustang colors!
