Ms. Jones welcomed Dr. Joe Pesce, an astrophysicist who specializes in galaxies and black holes, to her office hours to present to her classes. An out of this world experience to hear him speak.

Dear Kilmer Families,
We were happy to connect with several families during our Virtual Parent Coffee on Friday, May 15. The virtual parent coffee focused on organization and study skill strategies in the Distance Learning Environment and additional Distance Learning opportunities. We will have the second session of our virtual parent coffee on Monday, May 18 at 3:00. This virtual parent coffee will cover the same content as the Friday session. We will resend the link on Monday morning. The sessions are also recorded and posted on our website.
Please encourage your student to visit the Kilmer Library website (https://www.kilmerlibrary.org/), the Health & PE Department website (https://www.kilmerlibrary.org/wellness.html), and the Afterschool Activities Google Classroom (https://kilmerms.fcps.edu/announcements/after-school-google-classroom) for additional opportunities.
The process for student locker item pick-up will start this coming week. Each family will receive an email through e-notify letting them know the specific date and time to come to Kilmer for the curbside pick-up. This process will take several days. Families should receive their e-notify email letting them know their date for pick-up no later than Wednesday, May 20th.
Sincerely,
Amy Miller
Principal

Parent Coffee
We will be offering a virtual Parent Coffee on Monday, May 18 at 3:00 PM. During this time, our school counselors will share helpful tips on organization and study skill strategies in the Distance Learning Environment. We will also hear from our Librarians, PE Teachers, and our After-School Specialist to learn about additional Distance Learning opportunities.
We will send the Blackboard Collaborate Ultra Link via e-notify Monday morning. Please note each session has a maximum of 250 participants. Both Coffees will cover the same information. Please plan to participate in only one session. We will also record the sessions and post them on the Kilmer website.
New Yearbook Spread
During this unprecedented time, Kilmer’s yearbook staff wants to document what the Kilmer community has been doing to stay positive during school closing. We will be creating a spread that includes photos and stories of what students, parents, and staff have been doing during their quarantine to stay busy, connect with others, and stay active. Please send pictures and stories to pmprevost@fcps.edu of you connecting through social media (tiktok, facetime, etc.), creating art projects, baking/cooking at home, spending time with family, taking walks, virtual learning, playing games, etc. Please write a caption of who is in the picture and what you are doing. Thank you!
