Course Requests 20-21 and Student Intention Form

Rising 9th - 12th Parent/Guardian:

  • This is a reminder to please be sure to review your child’s 2020-21 course requests in ParentVue/StudentVue this week.  The last day to request a change to 2020-21 course requests has been extended to Tuesday, May 19.  This is also the last date that 2020-21 course requests will be viewable in ParentVue/StudentVue.  A reminder that courses in ParentVue/StudentVue are not a schedule for next year, just a list of the courses requested.  If you do not have an active ParentVue account, please contact Darlene Snyder (DMSnyder@fcps.edu).
  • Staffing decisions for the 2020-21 school year were based on the course selections made by our students.  As a result, updates and/or changes to course requests can be done so on a limited and space available basis.  Any requests should be made to the high school alpha counselor by Tuesday, May 19, 2020.
  • Parents of 8th grade students currently enrolled in a high school course (World Language, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry) may request that the final grades for these courses be omitted from their students’ high school transcript.  You must fill out the Request to Expunge High School Credited Courses Taken in Middle School form and return it prior to the end of the first nine weeks of the 2020-21 school year.  Those interested in completing this form can email it to your alpha assigned high school counselor.
  • Finally, if your child will not be returning to West Potomac for the 20-21 school year, it is important that you complete a Student Intention form which you can access at this link.  Only complete this form if your child will not attend West Potomac High School next year.  Completed forms should be returned to Leslie Dorsey (ladorsey@fcps.edu) by Friday, May 29, 2020.
  • Again, please carefully check your student’s course request list.  If you have any questions concerning your child’s 2020-21 course selections, please contact your alpha assigned high school counselor.  Also, if you would like to keep up with the latest Student Services programs and opportunities, follow us on twitter @WPHSSS.
