Message from Mrs. Castillo

Denny Appreciation

First, we would like to wish a very happy Mother's Day to all of our moms! Mother's Day this year takes on special significance due to everything our mothers have done to ensure family safety, happiness, and learning this year. Thank you for everything you do and have done!

And speaking of thank you - our staff is so appreciative of the community's outpouring of support and thanks during last week's Staff Appreciation Week. Thank you to everyone who reached out to their teacher in some way to thank them for their role in our students' lives. I loved seeing so many notes, poems, chalk art, and songs, and cards. A big thank you to our PTA – once we can enter the building, they are helping upgrade our staff lounge and restroom to make them more comfortable and enjoyable for the staff!

Outside of teaching, planning, and meeting with their teams, teachers are also busy beginning to plan for the end of the year and thinking about next year already. In the next few weeks, our staff will be discussing next year's class placement, planning how and when they can safely enter the building to organize their classrooms and student items, and a distribution plan for student personal belongings and medicine. We hope to get information to families about our distribution plan and timeline next weekend.

Hope you had a fabulous weekend and looking forward to a great week of virtual learning,

Mrs. Castillo
