Internet Access for Low Income FCPS Families

Cox Internet can provide free modem rental and free installation of internet for low-income, unconnected Fairfax County families. Households who meet income and other guidelines, can be granted this service free through July 15 (and then continued at a fixed rate of $9.95/month for two years).

This is unaffiliated with the MiFi distribution from FCPS.

Food Deliveries to Mantua ES Families

Our Parent Liaison at Mantua, Luis Uribe Gamboa, is delivering needed items to our Mantua ES families requesting assistance.  Families that wish to donate items can either drop items or have them delivered to Lisa Libby’s house to be stored prior to delivery.  Lisa Libby, 9303 Christopher St, Fairfax, VA 22031.  You can coordinate directly with Lisa at 571-217-7856.  Thank you for supporting our community!

This new support group for parents of special needs children and youth will be facilitated by a behavioral pediatrician.

Parents/guardians of school-age children can learn how to navigate the transition process to prepare their children for the adult world.

Plan Ahead — An Individualized Approach to Raising Your Challenging Child —9 session course

Tuesdays June 23-Aug. 25, Via Zoom

This program is to help parents identify the source of their child’s challenging behavior and learn what they can do about it.  For parents of children ages 3-12.

Support Groups

 

All these support groups are open to newcomers, and they are free, except where noted.  No diagnosis is required to participate.  Participants are typically given the opportunity to share their story, experience support, and glean guidance (as desired) from group members regarding both community and school resources.  Confidentiality is respected.  Many, but not all, have switched to online format.
