End of 3rd Quarter – Report Cards are Coming!
Report cards for this year’s 3rd and 4th quarters will be produced centrally for all secondary schools, except for those parents and/or guardians who have opted to “Go Paperless.” Third quarter grades should be finalized on Friday, May 8 at 11:59 p.m. and will be visible in ParentVUE and StudentVUE on Saturday, May 9 at 6 a.m. We anticipate the printed report cards will be provided to the postal service by May 23.
Parents and/or guardians can take advantage of the paperless option, by logging into ParentVUE, then going to “My Account” and selecting "Go Paperless!" This is the only way to keep a paper report card from being generated for students at the secondary level.
Access in ParentVUE and StudentVUE to view the grade book and report card modules will be closed from Fri, May 1 at 4 p.m. until Saturday, May 9 at 6 a.m.
AP Testing – Kicks Off!
As many students prepare for AP Testing at home, for those testing, it’s important to take time this week to ensure they are ready for this year's exams. The 2020 AP Testing schedule begins on Monday, May 11. Please take a moment to review the important information below shared by College Board:
Teacher Appreciation Week
As Principal Smith shared earlier this week, it is Teacher Appreciation Week! Our Student Services Team values, applauds, and admires the work of all teachers and we know you do too. We encourage all students, parents, and even alum to reach out to our teachers with a video message, email, or e-Card! It will only take a minute but it will truly make someone’s day! Class of 2020
We are so proud of the Class of 2020 and want to celebrate your plan with you! To help you transition from high school graduates to global and productive citizens, FCPS has created this website to help you solidify your post-secondary plans (including on the Senior Survey, mentioned below), document your plans, and Celebrate!
Seniors-Celebrate Your Plan!
Senior Survey & Final Transcripts
Lee High School is conducting our Senior Survey. The due date was May 1st but it has been extended so all seniors can participate. All seniors who will graduate in June or August 2020 are asked to complete the 5-minute Senior Survey during this window of time. There are two parts to this survey. The main purpose is to record both the postsecondary plans of all graduates and the final status of the college applications. The data collected from this survey are reported to the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) and to our community. The survey also collects data on Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the amount of scholarship money offered and accepted, work-based learning experiences, and alumni contact information. This is very important to our school and we ask for your help in getting 100% participation!
**Students cannot request a final transcript to be sent to the college they plan to attend in the Senior Survey if the Parent Consent and Transcript Request Forms have not been received. If you discover that you do not see an option for sending your final transcript when completing question 2 on the Senior Survey, that means you need to complete and return (to your school counselor) the two forms located here.
To access the survey, please follow these steps
- Login to Blackboard
- Go to Naviance Student and click on the Naviance link
- At the top, click About Me
- Click on My Surveys and Select Surveys Not Started
- FCPS Senior Survey – Class of 2020 (take this survey first)
- Take the Part 2 survey as well

College & Career Planning for Juniors
Now is the time for rising seniors to explore a variety of options for life after high school. Our juniors are encouraged to explore college, training and apprenticeships, employment, the military, and gap year programs using this Google Site: Class of 2021 Rising Seniors’ Next Steps Google site. Resources for Students & Families
Families Needing Internet
FCPS 2020 Mental Wellness Consultation Service
We understand that students and families may experience challenges during this closure and epidemic. As a support, any FCPS parent may schedule a 30-minute phone consultation with a school psychologist or school social worker, for either themselves or their middle or high school student. This consultation provides an opportunity for parents to receive guidance on how to support their student’s emotional well-being during their time away from school. Student consultations will provide support and strategies in response to anxiety, mood, behavior, or peer/family interactions during this unprecedented time. To schedule a consultation, parents should click the following link: https://forms.gle/WKchwGnv4LkezQwG8.
This service is not intended for mental health emergencies. If an emergency is suspected or indicated, please call 911. Additionally, students and families can access mental health support if there is a crisis of emergency during the time of the closure.
College Admissions & More
National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) created a tool for students and families that serves as a central resource for information about changes in college admission events, deposit dates, summer programming, and more as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. More than 900 colleges and universities have submitted updates using this tool (view in Chrome). It is also advised that students and families check the college’s webpage directly for additional information.

Contact your school administrator or counselor who can refer you to your school-based substance abuse prevention specialist (SAPS). To learn more about the SAPS program, watch the six-minute FCPS video: Parent Presentation: Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs.
