Do’s and Don’ts of Distance Learning

Watch our Student Services team demonstrating what you should NOT be doing during Distance Learning, and sharing some tips about what you SHOULD be doing!  Use this link to view the video.

Key tips:

-Get enough sleep, and wake up about an hour before your first class.

-Set up a work space with minimal distractions.

-Join your class sessions on time.

-Create a routine, and follow it.

-Reach out to your teachers and counselor if you need help.

-Keep a positive attitude, and be persistent!

Liberty Middle School Take First Place in Math League Competition

Congratulations to Liberty Middle School for finishing First Place in the Middle School Mathematics League Competition in Fairfax County Public Schools this year! Liberty has achieved 1st Place for three years in a row!  A huge shout out to Mrs. Kristina Yeany who is our Math League sponsor and to all of our math teachers who inspire our students to excel academically and volunteer their time as proctors. Congratulations to all of our fabulous students who consistently demonstrate excellence in mathematics! We would also like to give a special shout out to our top scoring students.  First Place: Nandita Sugasi;  Second Place: Sean Lucas and Jia Mody; Third Place: Rohak Das.  Congratulations Liberty Middle School!  


Liberty Middle School Talent Share Showcase!

Attention all singers, dancers, comedians, magicians, and performers of all kinds!  This year's talent share will be a virtual show presented online at the end of our school year.   The show is open to anyone interested in performing.   Performers must provide their own instruments and/or anything you need to perform!  You will also need to be able to record a video of your own performance.  Lyrics must be school appropriate.  If you have questions, email Ms. Todhunter at jatodhunter@fcps.edu

Student Intention Forms for 2020-2021

We need your help in projecting our total enrollment for next school year.  For families NOT returning to Liberty Middle School in the fall of 2020-2021, please complete and return the “Student’s Intention for the Next School Year” form by Friday, May 22, 2020.  You may access the form on the FCPS public website: https://www.fcps.edu/registration/forms#intention-form .

A typed parent/guardian name on the Parent Signature line is acceptable, and the Student ID Number may be left blank if you do not have the information.  Please save the completed form, attach it to an email, and send to Jenni Carnahan at jscarnahan@fcps.edu.  If you do not have the capability to complete and email the form, you may leave a telephone message at: 703-988-8200.  Information to include in the message is:  Name of student; Parent/Guardian name and telephone number; current grade; name of school of attendance for next school year, indicating if the school is in FCPS, another county or state, private school, or intention to home school.

We appreciate your help in helping us to plan for the 2020-2021 school year.
