Our close partnership supporting our children has never been more evident than it is right now! Parents, we thank you for showing us your appreciation this week. We appreciate your role as parents and teachers as well. Mrs. Merritt found this poem and wanted to share it with all of you. Thank you from all of us! |
The second grade teachers would like to compliment our students for showing self-control, respect and perseverance during our distance learning. Second Grade is celebrating Poetry Month by reading and writing different types of poems. They explored acrostic, haiku, concrete and other types of poems. They learned all about poetic tools such as metaphors, similes, and alliteration. In math, the second graders have been busy learning about 3D shapes in Geometry. They were challenged to create and build 3D robots using shapes they found around their house.
We need your help in projecting our total enrollment for next school year. For families NOT returning to Franklin Sherman Elementary School in the fall of 2020-21, please complete and return the “Student’s Intention for the Next School Year” form by Monday, May 11, 2020.
A typed parent/guardian name on the Parent Signature line is acceptable. Student ID Number may be left blank. Save the completed form, attach it to an email and send to arajabi@fcps.edu.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month! This month look in our column for resources and tips surrounding mental health. We have a Virtual Counseling Blackboard available with lots of resources on social-emotional learning and mental health information. All students are enrolled, so please feel free to check it out as well. As always, your mental health team continues to be available to support you.
Your mental health team,
Nikki Bohnert (Counselor), Lisa Hershaft (Social Worker), & Sophia Antoci (Psychologist)
